I grew up wanting to be a surgeon. As I have gotten older, my experiences have pushed me to change my path many times. I decided that I have a passion for helping people, especially those I am close to in my community and in the Guard. The IPAP opportunity allows me to pursue a long lost dream, provide a better quality of life for my family, and let me serve ...

I have always been the kind of person who pretty much stayed to himself and got attention from people no matter what, which did not come from hanging out with crowds of people because I’ve always been a loner. To stretch this point further, I remember when I started college at Miami Dade College in August of 2013. I did not know anyone but within being there for 10 minutes, a small group of people came up to me and introduced themselves. I did the same thing and from the point on I took that piece of attention I got ...

Lloyd Augustus Hall
Lloyd Augustus Hall’s contribution to science largely involves food preservation. Lloyd’s interest in food chemistry, a new area of chemistry, started while working at Boher Chemical Laboratory. Before his inventions, table salt (sodium chloride) was used as the major food preservative especially in preserving meat (Wilson and Jane, 34). However, table salt was not effective enough, as meat could only be preserved in a short period using this technique. Following various experiments, Lloyd came up with “flash-drying” technique as an alternative to table salt preservation. The technique involved a combination of sodium nitrate crystals and nitrite and sodium chloride, which ...

1. In essence, I believe that abortion should be an issue left up to the mother, and that it an acceptable practice if it is needed. In a perfect world, abortions would not be necessary - every pregnancy that would occur would yield a life that could be given a good life and be loved by parents who are ready and capable of taking care of them. However, this is not a perfect world, and pregnancies happen every day for less-than-ideal reasons: rape, incest, unplanned pregnancies despite initiatives to use birth control methods. Furthermore, there are complications in pregnancy that can affect the ...

First I wondered why her works had to be that deep. But by ...

Women have long been suppressed and prevented to hold higher office or positions since the ancient times. There were suppositions that women are not politically savvy or capable of handling responsibility outside the home, let alone have a voice in society. Some societies even restricted women from becoming educated to suppress their desire to fight for their rights. However, as the years progressed, societies around the globe slowly became divided in how they treat their female constituents. Jamaica, for instance, had been open to women empowerment but they still held certain reservations on allowing to dominate in the political arena. ...
This paper is the result of my research on the British dramatist, Harold Pinter. There is so much material available on Pinter that it was sometimes hard to decide exactly what to use, so I have limited my source texts to two authoritative reference books. As well as giving biographical information, I have tied to trace his contribution to the theatre, but even that was slightly problematic, since he did so much – he directed, acted and wrote for the theatre. Even if we concentrate on his writing, we are dealing potentially with a huge amount since he wrote plays, poems, ...
