Conflict is an inherent part of human beings’ everyday lives, and it is something that can be minimized, but never completely avoided. Some people are so concerned about conflict avoidance that they are unable to stand up for themselves under important circumstances; being too passive can be just as destructive as being too aggressive (Suter et al., 2009; Knapp, 2014).
