Cardio-Metric, a start-up company founded by Carlos Sanchez and Chris Ward, began its operations in Minneapolis in 2002 starting with a simplified blood pressure (BP) monitor for use by patients in their homes with signals sent to their physicians in the real time through internet. The company succeeded in rising venture funding of $ 6 million in 2003 in the first round of institutional financing.
