Abstract:
This paper is about the phenomenon of the Restavek children in Haiti and how these have become an accepted form of the country’s culture. The film which discusses the plight of these children was taken from a CNN documentary in 2010 where the director examines the way of life of these child slaves in great depth. Thus the topic of child slavery is an essential part of the film and demonstrates how this is still an essential part of Haitian society.
