Film Studies: Hong Kong Cinema
Common themes in Hong Kong films include those that relate to human beings’ dreams, their journey, and their identity. Characters in some of the films we covered have certain dreams, often unattainable, and their stories revolve around their journey towards these dreams. The succeeding discussion focuses on three Hong Kong films that explore characters’ dreams, journey, and identities particularly within the context of common themes such as love.
