Once there was a woman,
Who held a deep and dark despair,
The house she lived in was wooden,
And black as the night was her hair.
A knocking at her door,
thump thump! thump thump!
A man stands there stranded,
A face she’d seen before.
“Please help me miss! I’m lost!”
Said the man with a face full of mud,
“The rain has got me tossed,
and the cold is freezing my blood.”
Blood, she thought,
What a grotesque source of food
