Theme of Isolation and Loneliness
The themes of isolation and loneliness are illustrated in Beowulf through Grendel’s character. Grendel felt excluded and isolated from the humans because he was living alone with his mother and this made him feel that he does not belong to the community. The loneliness and isolation Grendel felt made him the monster he was, he desired to belong to the humans in the community but they isolated him.
