The paper by Marc Galanter considers some four important elements within the legal system. However, among the four elements, there are two outstanding elements which include the haves, as well as the have-nots. These individuals are referred to as the one shotters as well as the repeat players. The important elements include the courts, rules, parties along with the lawyers. The one shotters plus the repeat players are divisions of the parties. The one shotter describe a person that deals with the legal system less frequently thus they possess fewer resources.

Customer service can be simply defined as all interactions between a customer and a product provider at the time of sale, and thereafter. (businessdictionary.com) Although what is being sold is very important to the initial success of a company, how you treat your customers who have decided to take a chance and make a purchase of your product can be just as important. A successful business must have repeat business and customer service is the lifeblood that makes this happens. I have been a consumer of many things and the best customer service I always think of is after a day that I will never forget.

Given the various sources of data on juvenile delinquency, and the means by which these statistics are collected and recorded, there is reason to believe that these statistics and sources do not provide an accurate picture of the type and frequency of delinquent behavior present in the youth population. According to research, fewer than half of all victims of crimes, whether property or violence related, actually report the incidents to the police. This is ...

Times of uncertainty lead the public to seek both leadership and answers. They need answers, and ways to organize around issues of social significance which have created doubt, and indecision. In essence, they need help understanding the issue at hand and being offered an acceptable frame of reference when they, themselves, do not have the experience to come up with constructive solutions. Often this leadership comes out of the academic community. As such, the purpose of the current essay is to determine in what ways academics can contribute on issues of ...

The influence of the past to future events have generated a tremendous growth in anxiety levels over the future. Hence the coining of the popular saying, learn from your mistakes since history. Forecasting principles dictate require rigorous study of trends since they believe that past performances can reoccur in future. However, Mark Twain disputed these theories by stating that history does not repeat itself, it rhymes. In this quote Mark Twain implied that past situations do not replicate themselves in the future, but rather they may appear in a different form.

In 1764, Cesare Beccaria published the book, On Crime and Punishment. His work provided the foundations of classical criminology. In classical criminology, benefits and consequences are argued to be behind all human behavior. Most people compare the future benefits and costs of particular actions before they commit a crime. The argument put forward is that individuals would not participate in any criminal action if the cost is relatively higher than the benefit (Marcello 3). This paper seeks to analyze the Beccaria’s classical school of criminology and how it changed the justice system in the western world. It also ...
The main difference between arbitration and litigation is that arbitration is a private means to resolve a dispute and litigations is a public dispute resolution method. Accordingly, arbitration is not subject to the laws, such as constitutional or statutory requirements normally applicable in a dispute resolved in court. As a private means of dispute resolution, the parties can agree to the terms and parameters of how the case can be resolved. The key step of litigation that is absent from arbitration is the ability to appeal a finding. Generally, arbitration decisions are finally with not ability to have its ...

The increase in drug related cases calls for strict rehabilitation measures for offenders. The United States judiciary and other countries around the world developed the Drug Courts as a means of providing the necessary help for these offenders. As with all other rehabilitation measures, Drug Courts have failures and successes. In some cases, the Drug Courts are effective as they help to reduce recidivism, yet there are other instances where drug offenders constantly repeat their offences and leave critics to point to the system as a failure. The objective of this paper is to assess and evaluate the Drug Court system ...

The debate on whether minors should be held in the same stature as adults for equal crimes is one that has been raging on for a long period. The debate is occasioned by the enticing argument that any form of societal and criminal misconduct should always be tackled by undertaking tougher punishments on offenders regardless of age. However, applying the same metric of punishment to juveniles as adults is not the solution. It is especially the case considering that research indicates that minors that receive adult sentences become more likely repeat offenders as opposed to those that go through ...

Some of the common goals in any restaurant regardless of size is the desire to make money, control food and labor cost and to retain employees . A restaurant is one of the toughest businesses to run successfully because of the long hours involved, the high turnover and the relatively low pay when compared to the number of hours. Therefore it is clear that human resource is a critical operating factor. An understanding of the nature of the market is also essential; factors like market saturation and market trends are critical to operating a ...

Traditional policing is reactive and action is initiated when crimes or problems are reported. In contrast, community policing is characterized by shifting of focus from crime and law enforcement to finding solutions to community problems like “perceptions of disorder, fear of crime, quality of life and neighborhood conditions” (Kappeler and Gaines 1). The ideal form of community policing empowers the community and, decisions on courses of action are taken in consultation with the community members. The police have to take up additional roles as advisors, facilitators and lead-initiators. They become service providers by escalating ...
Maintaining the peace and order in the community are two of the most important roles of the police forces. The authorities apply policing strategies that enable better relationship with the community as well as knowing what the community’s problems are. For many years, police agencies have been developing several approaches in order to achieve the full participation of the society when it comes to maintaining the peace and order as well as to gain respect from the members of the communities they are serving. The purpose of this study is to define two policing strategies, such as the ...
Release on parole or a shortening of a prison sentence are both highly complex issues that need to be viewed from both a legal as well as humanitarian standpoint. While ‘imminent danger to society’ is an integral component in determining if parole should be granted to any convict, I believe that when the crime relates to sex offences, even more care and precaution is necessary. The option of early release should only come in question if and when there are very explicit mitigating circumstances, such as the criminal being afflicted by a mental disease that prompted the action, and ...

Advertisements are forms of promotional strategies that organizations apply to enhance awareness for their products. These advertisements usually aim to make the target customers respond through purchase and continued support for the product. Just like the other three marketing mix elements (product, price and place), the strategies designed to enhance promotional efforts differ. Their effect, likewise, depend on how the important elements of an advertisement are chosen, created, and applied. In this regard, the current paper aims to present an analysis of a print advertisement, particularly that of Old Spice, and argue that it failed to create the needed response ...
It’s a principle that provides the basic and the essential part in the mathematics of sorting and even counting. This principle was introduced by Johann Peter Gustav Lejeune Dirichlet in 1834. He called it the shelf principle or drawer principle. However, many people appreciate his insight and call it the Dirichlet drawer principle. The name pigeonhole was introduced in 1940 by Raphael Robinson. In the literal sense, pigeonholes refer to shelves or holes used to place pigeons. Thus, the principle roughly states that if one has a given number of boxes and a given number of items to ...
Edgar Allen Poe wrote “The Raven” in 1945. The poem shows how lost love can lead to depression. Depression, and mental illness in general, is a topic common to many of Poe’s works, and he often uses an unreliable narrator as one of the primary means of showing such depression. Following the death of the woman he loved, a male speaker narrates “The Raven,” and through this first person account, the reader is allowed a glimpse of his descent into madness. Through the poem, Poe demonstrates to how the experience of losing a loved one can propel someone ...

Federal Sentencing Guidelines
First, the court determines the guideline applicable to the offense committed by convicted defendant. In cases where the defendant offers a plea that establishes the commission of a more serious offense, the defendant is deemed to have committed extra offenses. However, the guidelines are not applied to misdemeanors and infractions. The base offense level is then determined according to the characteristics of the committed offense and any special instruction in the specific guideline applied. Adjustments are then made according to the harm done to the victim, the role played by the defendant in the offense, and any obstruction of ...

Identifying the requirements
For a logo to be effective it requires to be simple, easy to remember, it is not necessary that a logo be graphically related to the organization it is representing, it may not make sense at all visually as brand but if it is simple and people can easily remember it, then it becomes very useful and powerful tool for branding. As far as requirements for a brand go, it is self explanatory; a logo is a simple identification mark that people can use to identify a company that is its only function.

Those things are surrounding us everywhere. The manner we speak, books we reed, buildings we are living in, every aspect of life is full if those statements. And here I will show what had we taken from Romans, Islam’s, Judaism, and Christianity.
