The Arabian Nights are a collection of stories of Asian and Arabic origin. These stories were collected over a period of several years and transmitted orally from generation to generation. These tales are entrenched in several oral traditions and are primarily associated with medieval Arabic culture. These stories have been greatly altered between the tenth and sixteenth centuries and have been kept alive by professional storytellers who performed them all over the Middle East.
