Amelia Earhart was born July 24, 1897, to a lawyer's family. Her love for aircraft came during the World War I. Amelia was a nurse in the hospital next to the airfield. Not long before the round the world flight Earhart wrote that her two biggest desires were: to be the first woman in transatlantic flight (at least as a passenger) and the first woman-pilot to cross the Atlantic.
