Philosophy Questions
1. Ross’ s Moral Theory is considered to stand between Kant’s strict deontological theory and theological theory of utilitarianism. According to the philosopher, there existed several prima facie duties that people had to hold in respect if they did not contradict one another. In case they conflicted, human’s intuition would help to make the right choice and find the weightiest and the most important duty. Ross stated that any prima facie obligation could be redefined by more important ones. While Kant saw all obligations absolute and exceptionless, Ross allowed maximization of the good as one of the ...
Indescribable charm of the Rolling Stones is closely linked with a bright and multi-layered personality of Mick Jagger. Its importance for the group, so long staying on top of glory, not only limited to the fact that Mick almost single-handedly generates the energy that spurts from the stage during concerts the Stones, sings, writes lyrics and has been actively involved in the creation of new compositions. Surprisingly multifaceted and somewhat contradictory nature allows Jagger to perform at least significant duties and in the background. Rolling Stones do not use the services of the manager - because they have Mick ...
The start of my writing carrier proved to be an uphill task for me. As a result, I learnt the hard way when I first ventured into the idea of writing. I feel that I have improved my writing and I can now write better to the audience instead of writing for myself. Furthermore, my belief is that I have acquired the ability of controlling my sources instead of allowing the ...

Singer therefore tries to associate this period with the visit of Satan to the Jews. As a matter of fact, Jews have been waiting for the coming of Messiah and therefore the existence of such catastrophe symbolized the end of the Jews world which they expected Messiah to ...
Transcendence and Human Knowledge
In Christian theology, transcendence is a paramount idea as it refers to the fact that God is completely removed from the world, and can be found beyond the material universe. This stands in opposition with religious ideas which place God within the material world. When the human knowledge reaches the limits of what science can explained, going beyond this limit means experiencing transcendence. In the Bible, concepts on transcendence and human knowledge refer to ignorance and self-knowledge. The concept of self-knowledge however must be distinguished from the idea of transgressive knowledge which tests the limits of human understanding and ...

In my opinion, Alan Watts (n.d.) means that search of significance for an individual is not just a process but a state of mind, which leads the person further. Alan Watts (n.d.) gives an example of photos of peeling paint on old doors. By providing this example, Alan Watts (n.d.) is trying to say that photographers, who shoot this kind of photos do not follow a purpose to show the viewer the qualities of paint or the door either, what they are trying to show is that this process exists as it is. It is just there in a ...

Effective staffing is a concept that many firms do not devote sufficient time to. What these firms fail to realize is that if they invest their capital throughout the hiring process to find the proper candidate for the job, then they will have a larger reward payoff later on. The reason for this is that by finding the correct candidate for the job, they are essentially going to find someone who will be happy in their job because their personality is the proper fit, which in turn will produce more profitability in the future. The way that a prospective ...
I learnt a lot about abnormal psychology from this module. I think the area that I found most interesting was the topic of anxiety disorders, as I know a number of people that suffer from a variety of different anxiety disorders and it was useful to understand more about them. For me, I felt that it was particularly important to learn more about panic attacks and what they are. Panic attacks can often be seen as a sign of weakness to the outside world, but reading the case study about how they actually feel really illuminated how scary and ...

The violence has become an internal part of our social life nowadays. We see it everywhere: we read about it, watch the news and our favorite series. It always seems that these stories are so far away from you, on the other side of the screen, in written plots of producers and newsmakers. You feel so safe, sitting on your old brown sofa in ...

Just like a normal society, Utopian one consists of males and females, living among each other and developing connections, however, everything in their lives is controlled by the government, so the situation would be different, than in a normal ...
Diversity is one of the most evident and fundamental aspects of the human experience. In spite of this, there have been many attempts to erase these divisions, trying to instate a pretended normality by force. The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer movement arises from this attempt to erase the differences within people, yet it sometimes encounters a privilege inherent in this group as well: people of color have routinely been left out of the LGBTQ conversations. It is important for this movement to be intersectional, as the experience of non-whites is routinely different than those of the normative ...

Despite the high level of expectation this exhibition did not deliver. Most importantly as it ...

Unlike the eras that came before it, the postmodern era focused on the individual and whether or not personal authenticity is truly possible. In order to determine if personal authenticity is achievable though, one has to first take into consideration what individualism means. According to Elliot and Lemert, individualism involves a “denial of social connection” (Elliot & Lemert 2009, p. 3-4), in other words “the individualist creed was premised on the assumption that people should leave it to others to deal with their own problems and to get on with the living of life on their own terms” (Elliot & Lemert ...
Suzanne observes that; for decades, Hemingway scholars have used the term remate to describe the uniqueness in Hemingway's approach to autobiography and memoir. She also notes that Mary Hemingway's definition and use of the word remate is wrong. These flaws ramify into people’s creations such that there is not one thing a man has created, which does not have to endure a measure of hatred from the rest of society. The creature in Frankenstein is no different from men’s inventions, whose hideous nature was not apparent at the time of their inception, and abhorred for what passed as evil yet not appreciated for the utility its creator envisaged. It can surely be said that the extract from the Bible called “The Sermon on the Mount” plays the role of ethical foundation for every Catholic Christian. This extract tells the story of how Jesus “went up on a mountainside and sat down” (Matthew 5:2), and after gathering His disciples around Him, He started to introduce the rules that Christians had to follow in order to enter Heaven after their death. A Cathedral refers to a Christian church containing the seat of a bishop. It serves as the central church of the entire diocese, episcopate or conference. Although "cathedral" as a word is often loosely applied, those churches that have the roles of a "cathedral" that occur specifically. It is only in the denominations that have an episcopal hierarchy such as the Anglican, Roman Catholic, Orthodox as well as some Methodists and Lutheran churches that have cathedrals (Thomas, 2).
