A person with a persistent sense of despair and hopelessness is an indicating sign of major depression, which may also be referred to as clinical depression. I would inform my cousin of the disturbing symptoms brought about by major depression which may include having some difficulty in doing any kind of work, sleeping, studying, spending time with friends and other activities. Other symptoms include fatigue, feeling of guilt, indecisiveness, excessive sleeping or insomnia among others. I will also tell my cousin about the chances of suicide, homicide, or increased illness if the diseases is left untreated.
