Stevie Wonder's 1972 performance of Superstition is a classic illustration of “ABAB” song form. The “A” phrases are notated by an “aabb” rhyming pattern, while the “B” section, contains the same words each time it is sung and does not have a discernible rhyming pattern. The “B” section is followed by a brief musical interlude that is heavy on the horn section before dipping into the next chorus.
