The backbone of any populous city lies in its transportation system. One has to comprehend the fact that the transport system facilitates proper commutation of the people of the city, and it keeps the city on the go by connecting the places. It can be opined that the system of transports in a city is quite like the blood circulation of the human body- something that means that a city would become dysfunctional if the transport system gets thwarted in some way. To gauge the immense importance of transport system, one needs to consider the modes, structures and systems of the ...

Since the inception of the juvenile justice system, there have been many segments of the society that have been incorporated into the management and running of the system to ensure its success. Each of these parties play a vital role, each with its own unique set of characteristics and responsibilities that make it most effective in accomplishing the given role. Some of these parties include the police, the courts and the department of justice. In this paper, I will seek to discuss and critically analyse the roles of these three parties within the juvenile justice system.

Recent advancements in technology can enable remote diagnosing of patients. This is the field of telemedicine. The challenge in the modern day world is to employ remote sensing techniques to implement remote diagnosis.
Designing such semi-automatic diagnostic system requires several parameters to be considered. For example, designing the system for a space ship will require some basic assumptions. The assumptions are that physical injuries can be attended to by other crew members but internal ailments that cannot be successfully diagnosed by other crew members will make use of the remote diagnostic techniques. This paper will present a possible design of ...

Since ancient time, communities devised various mechanisms to sanction member of the community who travelled against societal norms, values, customs, and traditions. However, most communities appointed a council of elders to prosecute and punish individuals who contravened societal norms, values, and traditions with the intention to enhance cohesion, integration, and unity among the members. In essence, the council of elders acted as a local criminal justice system that had the mandate and responsibility to ...

Predicting the future may seem farfetched, but in this case, we can risk it. In a general sense, I have a strong vision that the criminal justice system of the United States will be a pragmatic and proactive one by the time 2033 strikes. I envision a criminal justice system that espouses positive values and can adeptly handle problems through creative, forward-looking and sustainable solutions. Around this time, our criminal justice system will have already learned from the error of its ways and will do its best to keep Americans safe and protected.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Inequality is an inevitable truth of our society. We see inequality everywhere, whether it’s between rich or poor, powerful or suppressed, strong or weak. What bothers Rousseau is that how and why such inequalities evolved in our society. The very first question that strikes of ‘Jean Jacques Rousseau’ is his question about inequality in two terms those are natural and political. He asks in the very first part of his work of ‘dedication’ that, he states that how equality is natural, and inequality is man-made, something that is introduced by men. Further talking about equality, he ...

Introduction to Information Security and Risk Management
Risk management is a process of determining the vulnerabilities that are present in an organization’s information system. It is done by taking carefully planned out steps to assure confidentiality, availability and integrity of all the components inside the organization’s information system (Whitman & Mattord, 2003). Managing risks is not an easy task with limited resources and the changing landscape of threats and vulnerabilities in the system. This makes mitigating all the risks impossible that is why it is important that professionals must have the right tools to help them to be consistent in managing the uncertainties present in ...

During the medieval periods, the code of Chivalry was in effect a moral system that defined qualities that were to be idealized by the knights. In essence, this moral system was more like an honor code of the knights; it technically exemplified their royal and exceptional stance in the society. Considering that chivalry required knights to behave in a way that epitomized good morals, I am of the opinion that; chivalry lack place in the contemporary society. Throughout the essay, arguments in favor of the notion above will be presented.

External hard drive disks (HDDs) are useful for storing files you need to take with you or upgrading the storage capacity of a laptop PC, but if you own a desktop PC, you will be able to install an internal HDD. An internal HDD has several advantages over external drives because it is faster and does not take up extra space on your desk. Although the thought of installing a second HDD may seem intimidating at first, the installation is simple process and shouldn’t take you more than 10 minutes to complete it.

The issue of gene patenting is an interesting one, bringing up concerns about the extent to which we ‘own’ our cells, and what rights we have with them. While some believe that, for instance, organ donors do not have the right to tissue that they have donated, others think that there must be some sense of bodily ownership that must be accounted for in issues like these. To that end, the work of Schleiter (2009), Caplan (2010), Satel (2008), and Rubin (2010) will be examined in order to see the ways in which organ and tissue donation intersect with ...

The American democratic system of governance has been a largely successful representation of the people, for the people, and by the people. However, as with any system consistently influenced by the ongoing desires of its citizens, in the past few decades American politics has been inundated with citizen involvement. One of the most controversial systems inundated with citizen involvement is the initiative, referendum, and recall processes. Although nearly half of the United States have a similar system in place, California in particular has felt the sting of its citizens’ ongoing involvement and – some might argue – interference, making the state practically ungovernable.

Dear Editor,
I am writing today in response to comments made recently by Congressman Paul Ryan indicating that a massive overhaul of the social security system is needed. While I agree that perhaps the system needs to be tweaked in light of the demographic change that is occurring due to the retirement of the baby boomers, I do not believe that the kind of change Congressman Ryan seeks is going to improve the system, but instead would help to dismantle it.
Ryan’s proposal would cut benefits dramatically and take steps toward privatization. Doing so would break a promise not only to ...

The grade point average (GPA) can be considered a negative force in the American educational system. It is based on the assumption that human beings are fundamentally thinking creatures (Brooks). This means that learners must be enrolled in teaching programs to train them to become self-disciplined. This is the initial integral step towards the acquisition of knowledge by school-going individuals. Even though this is partly true, the fact that human beings are driven by their individual desires is inevitable. People have the need to satisfy their particular needs in the manner they want. There are different ethical systems of communication. The first is the categorical imperative which is based on the work of Immanuel Kant that states ethics on the basis of increasing idea that individuals living in a society pursue moral absolutes (Bowen, 2005). However, the underlying principle of the categorical imperative is that one should act and set an example for others. The second system is utilitarianism that was developed by John Stuart Mill and suggest that anything that is based on ethics brings goodness for a large number of people. However, the utilitarianism largely depends on the cost of moral actions ...

Sextus Empiricus and his skepticism did not deny human knowledge or even the possibility of knowledge. In fact, it seems his philosophy appears to be a starting point that attempts to actively seek knowledge acquisition. It was just that he never believed one could get beyond the starting point. Or rather, he withheld his assent as to whether one could move beyond skepticism. He cautioned that one must be very careful before affirming as knowledge anything that went beyond ...
