Importance of Motive in Criminal Investigation
Criminal justice usually does not deal with motivations of the crime, but only the crime. The judge does not ask why the crime was committed, but only whether the crime was committed. The question of motivation related to ‘why’ a particular crime was committed (Steinberg, n.d). Although, it does not make much of a difference in courts of justice, but for criminal investigations, it does.
