Attention: Prospective Investors
Problem: Drone navigation systems play a vital role in military, environmental, urban growth, and crime prevention. With VectorCal as the only major company in the field producing a viable, quality navigational product, new innovative development and product pricing are only to be hampered by the lack of market compatibility. This lack of corporate competition permits a one-sided view of how to design, produce, market and promote drone navigation systems. Our Solution: Our proposal is to develop a leaner, faster version of drone navigation systems and to forsee the “missing” innovation that is not present in the marketplace. Our product will heighten competition making products and services in this industry safer, stronger, more reliable, with better technology features all while offering quality pricing for all markets. Company Name: Leanfast Navigation Systems Description of Company: Our company started small, basement-born, and is the brainchild of Bob Baron and Sue Cuttlefish; two techies with a desire to get into the navigational system industry. Starting in a small warehouse with an employee base of 34, we now have over 60 employees and a strong 5-year strategic plan. Our hopes are to be equally competitive in product, price and sales with our main competitor VectorCal by the end of year 5. Mission Statement: Our mission is to deliver the highest quality of drone navigation systems so we can improve the quality of everyday lives worldwide. Vision Statement: Leanfast Navigation Systems will revolutionize the drone navigation market by creating products that will change the way environmental survey, societal surveillance, crime prevention and world security are monitored and evaluated in order to make our world safer and healthier. We are dedicated to creating the newest products with the highest level of innovative technology for purchase by top organizations, all for making the world a better place to live. Our Products: While we have presently created Leanfast I – Envi and are working on Leanfast II - Gov, our goal is to create a minimum of a four class types of products that will meet our four target customers’ needs: environment, government, law enforcement and military. Staff Analysis: Our staff consists of CEO, CFO, and the following directors: Marketing, Innovation, Production, and Human Resources. We have an assistant for each top staff position, with all other employees fulfilling roles in our four departments. Target Clientele: Our primary target customer for the past year has been environmental groups; the customer base we are now undertaking is government; from here we plan on expanding into law enforcement and the military. It is must be noted that many of our target clientele overlap in needs, therefore producing different products from one client to another is often only a change in small parts of a class of product (as listed above). VectorCal’s Failings: VectorCal uses a qualitative technique in its forecasting. This strategy is subjective and depends heavily on an individual’s ideas and judgement. It the date that has been accumulated based on the history of performance. For VectorCal, its failings are because its computation provides only an estimate of the current activity rates such as cash flows and profits. Here it recognizes the rise and decline of sales (DuBrin, 2008). If it were to use a quantitative technique then a more reasonable model such as “time series analysis” would occur (Fredrick, 2011). Semi-variable Cost: $100,000 for Production/Year 1
Allocated Costs: $75,000 for Innovation/Year 1
Indirect Company Costs: $50,000/Year 1
Rationale for Costs: In our first year, we expect labor and production to be working at top capacity; high external promotion strategies; and more unknown costs as we are a new company.
