Creating a portfolio is a really meaningful process as it requires several stages to be reached. First, I had to collect all materials and elaborate what material is necessary and what has no significance at all. Second, I had to think about the goals I wanted to achieve and their possible ways of solution. Third, I looked back at all my gained knowledge and tried to combine it with my academic goals and future perspectives. I do believe the process of creating a portfolio makes sense as I not only find some information and then brainstorm how important it is, but also understand my strength and weaknesses, and future goals and ways to their achievement. So I discovered new information about myself, my plans and even abilities. Therefore, a portfolio should be a mandatory task for every course in order to make students know their talents and abilities, and establish their academic and lifelong plans.
I have found out how I can review all my previous goals and then plan future one. I also can write all them down in a correct order and it will help me to improve them after some time. I understand that my writing has improved as well since my writing abilities were vague and inaccurate to some extent but now it has changed and I feel proud of this updated skill. The more I have been writing, the more ideas I have been creating in my head. Moreover, I know that there shouldn’t be just a plain type of writing – facts and nothing more than facts. For making my portfolio more creative and interesting, I have to attach some photos or even videos. Finally, I should write everything in a readable and understandable manner so that not only I could understand the main idea, but also the audience.
