The health promotion initiatives are focused to incorporate the set of actions that enhance the health quality and wellbeing of the individuals in society. The objective of health promotion initiatives is to inform the individuals about the various aspects of their daily routines and how can they enhance their routine activities to remain healthy. It also ensures all the things are well-addressed that can influence the health and wellbeing of the individuals. In this manner, these initiatives play a prominent role in the prevention of chronic diseases caused by the prevalence of unhealthy activities (Nader et al., 2012).
In Golden Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, the health promotion initiative is incorporated in which the individuals from community, rehabilitation center and long-term residents are provided with the adequate information about healthy eating habits and regular physical activities. This initiative can be incorporated via conducting the in-house workshops and it can enhance the contribution of the organization to the society by enhancing the knowledge among the individuals about adopting the lifestyle that can enhance their wellbeing. The initiative can be incorporated by utilizing the healthcare personnel of the organization to conduct the workshops and it can enhance the extent and integrity of the organization’s services towards the wellbeing of the society.
The healthcare executive administrator is responsible to plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the effective delivery of healthcare and in accordance with this initiative, the healthcare administrator will plan the practical implementation of this initiative, will assign responsibilities to the healthcare workers to conduct the workshops and attract a large number of population to attend this workshop. The administrator will coordinate the purpose and objective of the workshop and will supervise the execution of the plan.
Purpose of Health Promotion Initiative
The purpose of health initiative is to enhance the knowledge among the individuals about the ways they can enhance their wellbeing. It also enables these individuals to take control of daily activities and improve their health by means of adapting their daily activities with healthy eating habits and adequate exercise routine. It addresses the overall population from the society, incorporating the adults, young-adults and long-term residents so that this knowledge can be practiced in their daily lives and they develop a positive behavior to support the prevalence of these activities in the organization. This health promotion initiative ensures that the prevalence of chronic diseases has been reduced from the society and the individuals of the society are inclined towards a healthy lifestyle (Block et al., 2011).
It can help the families to implement healthy practices in their daily lives so that the effective implementation of adopting a healthy lifestyle can be encompassed. It also helps the families with the members who are at-risk of developing chronic diseases and can enlighten them with the preventive measures to maintain their health. It can enhance the wellbeing of the community by means of developing healthy eating and physical activities so that the healthcare standard in the community can be enhanced by preventing the prevalence of chronic diseases.
Political Process
The political process is required to ensure that the adequate resources are made available for the effective implementation of the health initiative. The political process requires the adequate communication and persuasion skills in order to make the policy makers and key position holders to understand the significance of the health initiative in the society. In this manner, the formal procedure of incorporating the documentation and meetings is practiced in order to ensure to ensure that the concerned authorities and key position holders understand the need of health initiatives on the basis of the tangible facts.
Moreover, the collaboration and agreeability for the practical implementation of health initiative is required and hence, the healthcare administrator will be required to get support from coworkers and subordinates to indicate the readiness of employees towards the initiative. In this manner, tangle facts and high agreeability of employees will influence the higher authorities to grant resources for the community health initiative.
Legal and Ethical Issues
The legal issue can arise while utilizing the granted resources to incorporate the health initiatives. The financial resources are provided to prevent the at-risk individuals in the community from developing chronic diseases, however, the general initiative will also target the general population to develop healthy lifestyle. In this manner, the use of resources may remain unclear and can cause legal constraints due to which it is necessary that the healthcare administrator enlightens the preventive and informative aspect of the initiative so that legal concerns about over-utilizing the financial resources can be hindered.
The legal issue can also occur when the job tasks, duties and responsibilities of the healthcare personnel with be increased due to the implementation of the health initiative. It will increase the workload for the employees while keeping their compensation level. In this manner, the administrator will have to compensate the employees or will have to incorporate their consent for the volunteering in the implementation of the health initiative. Moreover, the collective workshop can cause privacy concerns for the patients in rehabilitation centers due to which it is necessary that the privacy of the patients is maintained by using the effective information systems.
Strategies to Engage in Health Promotion Initiative
The healthcare administrator can use social media in order to attract a large number of population to attend its workshop and can also use social media to recruit volunteer to organize and conduct these workshops. This strategy can help the healthcare administrator to aware the community about the workshop and can also help in attractive highly motivated and competitive volunteers to work in the implementation of the initiative, which is considered as a strength. However, the weakness of this strategy is that it can only target the recruits or volunteers who are active at social media and can overlook the potential volunteers from other sources.
The healthcare administrator can make the tasks challenging and intriguing for the healthcare staff and volunteers so that they can enjoy their contribution to the organization. In this manner, the healthcare staff and volunteers will utilize their best potential in the implementation of the health promotion initiative. However, it can also be a demanding job for them and can result in burnouts due to the workload and hence, the healthcare administrator will have to supervise and motivated them.
Integration of Information to the Nursing Role
The innovation in the healthcare practices and systems require the nurses to enhance their knowledge, skills and abilities to keep up with the innovation. It can help in offering the best level of care to the patients and will improve their quality of life. The healthcare organizations are focused on maintaining the quality healthcare services by means of providing ethical and hygienic environment to the patients. Therefore, the nurses can ensure that the rights of the patients are not violated and their privacy concerns are not threatened. Moreover, nurses also make sure that the patients are provided with the quality healthcare services in a dignified manner that addresses the ethical code of conduct (Kemppainen et al., 2013).
