Children Welfare League of America is an intense coalition of many private and open offices serving kids and families that are defenseless since 1920. Our mastery, initiative and development on approaches, projects, and practices enhance the lives of a great many kids the nation over. Our effect is felt around the world.
Mission
Children Welfare League of America leads and connects with its system of open and private organizations and accomplices to propel approaches, best practices and community oriented procedures that outcome in better results for youngsters, youth and families that are helpless.
Christine James-Brown; President and CEO
Christine James-Brown got to be President and Chief Executive Officer of the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) in April 2007, expecting the administration of the country's most established and biggest enrollment based kid welfare association (CWLA, 2016). Before joining the organization, Ms. James-Brown worked with United Way International where she served as a president of the organization which services communities 45 countries over all six continents. She also has served at United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania (UWSEPA) as president in Philadelphia.
CWLA Triumphs
The organization has won several accolades over the years for its dedicated stand and help for the American children. The company won the Anna Quindlen Awards for Excellence in Journalism on Behalf of Children and Families for its role in covering issues of susceptible children and family. Another award that the organization has won is the Champions for Children Awards. Other awards that the organization has won includes; Community Partnership Awards, Congressional Advocate of the Year Awards, Dr. Alexander Gralnick Award, Member Awards, National Blueprint Champion for Excellence Awards, National Corporate Champion of the Year Award and Pioneer Awards – Kinship Care, all for the role that it plays in protecting vulnerable and children with little hope (CWLA Awards, 2016).
