In this project, I am going to investigate how the empire building process in the early Egyptian dynasties contributed to the world civilization process. Egypt is historically known to be one of the sources of early civilization process. The building of empires led to the development of architectural events that resulted in some of fascinating pyramids and works of art in history. This particular period saw numerous advancements in science, technology, and algebraic math that facilitated civilization through architectural development and emergence of education. Therefore, I will seek to answer questions such as:
How did empire building lead to civilization in the ancient Egypt?
Which aspects of the Egyptian culture and history contributed to this civilization process?
I chose this topic specifically because I think the empire building process in the early Egyptian history added a lot to the global civilization process during the selected period. Not only did it contribute to unity in the region but also acted as a center for the development of early civilization such as science and arts. The Greek Ptolemaic dynasty, for example, led to the creation of several museums filled with objects of ancient civilization process and continues to be a reminder of the early civilization process. Through the various archaeological works of the early Egyptian dynasties, the region has become a world attraction center for its beautiful pyramids representing empires build during the first process of civilization. The Arab civilization process in the area played a significant role in promoting civilization through the pyramid-like empires that were constructed by the Arab leaders and seen as the epitome of early architectural culture and development.
In this project, I intend to use mainly primary sources since these will help me in tracing the early civilization process and the empire building process in Egypt. For this purpose, I will make use of a primary source by the Metropolitan Museum of Art that summarizes the ancient history of Egypt and the role of each dynasty in the civilization process. This source is relevant to this project since it gives a description of the various periods of the Egyptian civilization process and provides first-hand information on the Egyptian empire building process. According to this source, the different there were close to 30 dynasties in Egypt that helped in the civilization process through art, chemistry and mathematics designs (Metropolitan Museum of Art 20).
Further, I will also make use of the primary work by Keita that details the civilization and empire building process in Egypt. According to this source, the Egyptian Mesopotamia, and Indus Valley is a rich source of early civilization through cultural innovation, dynamism, exchange of good, services and ideas, that is, trade, and domestication. This source is relevant to this study since it provides a first-hand description of the various facets of the Egyptian civilization. Through trade ion the empires, this civilization spread to other parts of the world.
