How your interest in the subject develop? Describe any experience you had in the field.
“Hey, kid; pack your things up, and we’ll go on a business trip.” That is the voice of my dad who usually brings me along with him to business trips. That is how I developed my great interest in business as a kid. The elders were amazed to see my inclination in this field that was not common to other children of my age. As a young boy, I valued money too much because I have seen how my parents worked hard to earn a living.
Today, I aspire to major in business administration at The Paul Merage School of Business. The reason I want to enroll in this university is that I have learned so much from my friends and through online search about this school. It makes me so excited to enter their campus as a student in business. I have learned that while this school is relatively young in this profession, it has quickly grown to occupy the top 10 percent of all business-accredited programs. They are famous for having a world-class faculty, exceptional student-recruitment program, strong alumni network, and a solid relationship with business executives and global corporations. These qualities of The Paul Merage School of Business make me feel secure to reach success in my chosen career in the hands of their faculty.
I have studied in Santa Monica College since 2012, and finished my high school in Malaysia. My short-term goal is to get an internship that is part of my field, and I want to be independent in aspiring for my goals. My long-term goal is to expand my parents’ business and make it worldwide. Major in Business Administration is my choice in career because I have considerable experience in this field. Fortunately, I have a comparative advantage in accounting because I used to help my mother in her office since I was young. Even though my mother is the owner of the business, she still works on the accounting jobs by herself even from the beginning.
I help her balance the accounts, and I am familiar in handling company invoices and receipts.
I grew up in a business family, and my parents always give me a lecture about doing business. My dad is the owner of a logistics company dealing with importing and exporting cargoes. Through him, I have learned how to manage and distribute resources. On the other hand, my mother used to work as an accountant in my father's company until she started her cafe business. I am very proud of my mother, because I have witnessed her success in her chosen café business. From having only one cafe outlet in 2004, she has increased it to 12 today, and the number of outlets is still expanding. Strong determination to succeed is one great character that I inherited from my mother. She has influenced me a lot that I will not give up easily on difficult matters, and always work hard to reach my dreams.
The qualities that make me eligible to pursue my major in business include persistence, strong determination, respect for authorities, and a willingness to follow rules and regulations of the school. If I would have a chance to enroll at this prestigious university, I will do my best to get high grades and finish the course in due time. To achieve this aim, I would focus on my studies and create an action plan that would drive me away from things that could disrupt my studies. I can be an asset to this university because I know how to follow my responsibilities and keep the good reputation of the school. As I enter the gates of The Paul Merage School of Business, I imagine myself being a part of it, and I am so excited to carry the symbol of this university.
