It is worrying when one is not sure about the retirement and how he or she would be earning the day to day living especially when it comes to medical costs. It is evident that the more one gets old, the less vibrant when it comes to earning a livelihood. I would like to invest in trust funds in various companies with offshore businesses and others with interests in the country. I believe that they will continue generating income for me during my working time and way past my retirement age. The stock market is a risky venture when it comes to investing for my retirement age unless I choose to spread it in different companies. The likelihood of all the companies not performing well at the same time is minimal. The stock market can only be risky when one has invested heavily in one company or in companies that are dealing in one particular industry. It would not be a good idea for the government to privatize Social Security as this is one area that is quite critical to so many people. It will also be equally fatal for the Medicare to be done away with and so many people will be adversely affected.
Some people may be lucky to save and invest for the old age, but this might not be the precedent for a majority. Therefore it follows from this that the number of people contributing to Social Security will be higher than the ones retiring and hence the incoming amounts will take care of the ones out of employment. Other than investing in companies trading in different industries it will be essential to engage lobby groups to pressurize legislators and lawmakers into seeing the importance of upholding the Social Security and Medicare programs.
