Abstract
The paper is devoted to a current theme, advertisements, that is widely spread in our society. Advertisements have become a part of life in today's world. Everything around is connected with an advertisement. Advertising is a very influential sector that servers for public and manufacturers. It gives us much information about the products that we are going to buy. Today, it's even become some kind of a business. From this paper you can find some information about the purposes of the today’s advertisements, namely the advertisement of Pepsi, and its aim.
It is well known that an advertisement is a form of communication that is usually used to promote any kind of product or service. Today, advertisements surround us everywhere: on TV, radio, in the streets, newspapers, magazines and even on the Internet. The main purpose of advertising is to sell something -a product, a service or an idea. Advertisement usually broadens the consumers’ knowledge. It helps people to find necessary products and buy them without wasting their time. It also helps the manufacturers to promote their products quickly, and increase its demand.
In my opinion, advertisements, in general, should be educated. It must have certain qualities. It must be based on human psychology. Moreover, it should be attractive, because we just pay attention to an advertisement only if it is eye-catching. For example, an advertisement of very well-know beverage, which is very popular among people all over the world. The advertisement is about crowd surfing on San Sebastian beach. It lasts just 60 seconds, which makes the advertisement eye-catching and fascinating.
Moreover, in this very advertisement, there were included the world-famous football players, like Leo Messi, Fernando Torres, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Sergio Agüero and Jack Wilshere that make Pepsi ad very current and exciting. The advertisement is more referred to young people. Directors of the advertisement used different effects in order to make it more attractive and extraordinary. Also, they used an up-to-date music provided by very famous DJ Calvin Harris featuring Ne-yo, which is also one of the attracting points of the advertisement. We can see some visual effects, like sparkling captions on the background of their play.
One of the main factors that capture young people’s attention is that the event takes place in the music festival, which is very famous in our days. Directors tried to complex two biggest events in youth’s live: football and music festival. Thus, they increase the rating of the advertisement. Moreover, they emphasized the talent of the famous football players, which makes them more in-demand players in the world, and makes the advertisement more effective.
