Opinion A.
As far as I am concerned, it is a very interesting review, as it is written by a mother, who has much more in common with the authors than me and has a greater opportunity to understand them (or at least has more reasons and rights to judge them or disapprove of them). It is exciting to know that she, as a parent, can understand both authors, even the mother who brings up children without religion (who must have been judged by many parents). In general, I feel the same as the author of the comment, as I could understand the mother from the essay “Why I Raise my Children Without God” and had mixed emotions concerning Marley’s father, i.e., hatred, disapproval, and sympathy. But finally, I agree with the author and feel glad that the father found power to face the reality and change himself.
Opinion B.
Frankly speaking, the opinion of the second person seems very illogical and incoherent to me, and it is very hard to discern any sense due to the structure and grammar mistakes. But as far as I have understood, I can agree with the shrew comment that both articles are closely connected to each other and to God and religion. Moreover, I agree with the idea that religion, parents, and God have only partial influence on a child and do not guarantee against human mistakes and troubles. As for the essay of the father, I find the commentator’s viewpoint very intriguing – such Buddhist-like approach that there are no bad or good things, but only things changing our life and personality. The case of the father serves as a good example of this philosophy, and I really liked the author’s idea about it.
