I feel that Jackie Wong likely felt humbled and happy about the prompt response to his request; he feels respected and well-regarded by Cory, and that they have established a good working relationship. 5. Cory's admission that some homestay families do create bad experiences is another example of face-saving, as it allows for an ambiguous phrase to cover his bases in the event a homestay family goes awry.
