Agile Performance Management is a successor to the traditional performance management system. It has been designed to meet the needs of the new business world. The present world of work is more social, collaborative and faster moving. Therefore, there is a demand for a new performance management model that will provide a continuous monitoring of the process and cut down the drawbacks of the once in a year communication of performance measures. Agile Performance Management identifies the holes that are found in the traditional performance management system (Taticchi). It considers those strategies that do not work well with the present performance management, mends it and then powers it.
The business world is changing with globalization and technology development. It is expanding into the international market and has increased the number of operations. Hence, there is a need to use better technology that can solve the problems of traditional performance management ("Agile Performance Management: HR’S Next Big Move"). Agile performance management is a framework that can be used by engineers and software developers to identify the loopholes in the prior practices of performance management. Hence, it is important for any organization to shift towards agile performance management to survive and seek success in the competitive business world. The Agile Performance Management system can be implemented by using software intended performance management system that controls and monitors the performance of an organization.
The Agile Performance Management system is cost efficient and needs a onetime investment at the time of acquiring it. It reduces the workload of the management and further reduces the need for human resources for monitoring the performance of the organization. It is a much wider concept than that of a traditional performance management. Hence, it is essential for the management of any organization to shift towards Agile Performance Management to develop the performance of the individuals and deliver high-quality work in time.
