Advancing Justice: The Next Steps
Clara McGrail in this article speaks of the shared concerns from many people on the importance of a better justice system. This includes aspects such as how media can easily shape opinions on criminal justice and policing reform (McGrail, 2015). The press is a key focus in this article as the author and her peers such as Conor Friedersdorf focus on what they can do to lift up community awareness on justice and policing.
In this article, many of the concerned parties feel that the press is not living up to its potential to play a proper part in justice reforms (McGrail, 2015). There is need for proper guidance of the new generation writers and bloggers so that they can take active roles in fighting for a better justice system.
However, in this article, the author does not solely focus on the press. The need for communal participation is also stressed. The author is keen to mention that for justice reforms to be made the power of the people’s voice is key (McGrail, 2015). Members of the society need to diversify their involvement in the fight towards a better justice system.
