Politically, most countries after cold war wanted to dominate the other states in the form of military and global leadership. Therefore, states adopted strategies similar to the United States containment policy, with the aim of opposing any other state that did not support their ideologies. Most states feared the spread of Communism and the domino effect. There was great rivalry between communist and non-communist countries and the states adopted some form of containment against the Soviet Union and China.
The Russian state lived in a state of less abundance in the form of ideas and resources as compared to the western states. Therefore, Russia resisted any infiltration into their state either to learn or to teach the Russians about the west. Such a move is not helpful because resisting learning from the west made Russia remain backward and not to develop. The culture of holding to oneself leads one to make numerous mistakes continuously.
My analysis is that political leader’s resisted infiltration of Soviet Union members into their state and job market. The state openly rejected communists and their sympathizers. This was in the belief that they were protecting their selves sell out to their opposing side. However another part of the state believed in absorbing the Soviet into the state and, making them for their selves before the opposite camp took over.
The move was mainly due to the political competition by Soviet Union and United States for overall global influence. United States was fighting for political dominance with Russia for the world leader. I believe that building the United States from within as suggested by the Moscow Ambassador was the best move, that to defeat a state the power must come from within the nation so that the citizens are united, and there are no anti soviets.
Further, the state does not have people who sell –out the states ideas to the enemies. A demonstration of the perfect world that the United States desired to propagate was a key feature for the world to believe in the United States ability to lead while they follow. The ambassador was right in that people today; desire to follow a perfect practical leader as opposed to a theoretical one who cannot demonstrates and build the desired state.
Political leaders during the cold war labeled their opponents as communists or communists sympathizers. States and its leaders used lies to spread propaganda against each other so that they could triumph and win. The name communist and democratic was transformed to mean atheist and Christian respectively. The current strategy was to incite the people by aggression as opposed to the earlier approach of capacity building. The speech delivered was meant to get rid of the people who were betraying the United States to Russia and giving them crucial information. For example, a man named John Service worked in China for the state Bureau and gave up important information. Further officials at home supported him; therefore it was evident that there was a crack from within the United States departments.
My analysis is that United States was surely stronger than Russia and was more organized. Internal divisions such as doctrines of anti Soviets and traitorous citizens were however, working to their disadvantage. Thus, tough stronger, the United States was growing weaker every day, and this was giving Russia a better chance of winning the war.
During the time, it seemed that communism had highly infested the state departments. Most individuals during the cold war were very loyal to the communist party. Their main purpose was shaping and modeling the foreign policy to favor both genders. In my opinion, the challenge during this time was dealing with activities that permitted enemies to shape and guide their policy. The investigation is pertaining the enemies would be conducted smoothly if the FBI boss would agree with the citizen views. The main spies in regard to the foreign policy were mainly seen as Russian. The FBI is seen to be unable to work out the issues as they are captured by the Hiss. The declaration made on 1948 by President Truman indicates that all the nations were against the communist turn over. They mainly did this to protect their foreign policy. In the meantime, it is apparent that Hiss acted as a spokesman at Yalta. This led to his statement and authority followed to the latter.
Politically, Hiss with his power lead to the establishment of the European high commission. Politics at this time was no different all the characteristics and political culture were carried to the latter. Wars are followed closely by temporary moral lapse and emotional hangovers. Politics as the main drive force to this leaves the citizens with tremendous feeling of the war. People are mostly affected by the mass murders, destruction of property and erosion of, morals that leave the citizen under mental siege. In my opinion, war is very depressing and emotional taunting as it leaves people pathetic and numb.
In the people politics has led to the growth of hatred to some regions, some regions are seen as the main grounds of civil war. For example, the south, people are divided into two, no more harmony, they are divided into the whites and the Negroes. Because of these demarcations, the Negroes, are very violent and are prepared to do anything to achieve what they thing should be theirs. In my opinion, the Negroes seems to have a more charged determination to gaining what they believe is supposed to be theirs. Furthermore, the approach of gradualism in America is seen as a source of failure. They believe in their traditions that gradualism will never solve the problems in the south, the Negroes will still be Negros and the whites will always be whites.
My observation on this is that the American traditions and American outside the south were not ready to embrace change. Mainly, the Negroes were demonstrating g to get their constitutional and legal rights. Their plan was mainly acquiring equal representation in economic opportunities and personal dignity as the white in the south were accorded. In my opinion, the political arena was mainly characterized by racial discrimination; this comes forth as a major social problem in the American political life.
