Research thesis
The research focuses on the practical causes behind the plight of victims ranging from the African Americans of getting racially discriminated for their workplace rights to the gender identity orientation towards women for leadership roles in various organizations. The main question focussed in the research is that although, there are specific ethical and legal statutes which involve the human right violation laws for African American and females at the workplace, still they are not effective enough in solving the issue of racial and gender oriented discrimination. This research thesis aims at analyzing the various ethical considerations that are implied in the workplace environment to evaluate their actual effectiveness in mitigating the rising racial and gender discrimination and tends to recommend some specific changes for making them more effective.
Abstract
The most developed nations of the world like USA and UK are currently stung by the prevalent social menace of workplace discrimination practices which are biased in terms of races and gender. Both countries have very stringent ethical, legal , and professional statutes imposed on any practice of workplace discrimination and still there are various incidents of gender and racial discrimination being practiced in the workplace environment. Also, there are many lawsuits filed over the companies due to incidents of ethnic minorities and women getting harassed and treated with prejudice which results in a lopsided access to the power and resources. This means that either the ethical considerations imposed on the employees in the workplace environment are not practiced at all or if they are, then they are not effective enough to install a corrective action on the discriminatory mindset of employees and the organizations. Therefore, this research tries to find why the workplace ethics are not able to stringently impose such professional practices which can stop employees from practicing discrimination based on race and gender. The research will use the secondary research data to analyze the actual gaps in present ethical considerations implemented at the workplace environment and try to resolve the issues by recommending adequate changes in their mode of implementation and supervision to ensure that they are most effective in their objective.
Conclusion
Prima-facie,the rising number of gender and racial discrimination based incidents show a loophole in the prevalent ethical considerations in the workplace environment. But, there is an equal possibility that there might be some other causes (unfocussed) leading to such scenario and the deployed ethical statutes can be legitimate enough in mitigating the workplace discrimination. Therefore, the research will unravel the effectiveness of the prevalent ethical considerations to ascertain whether they are thoroughly implemented or there is a flaw in the implementation and acceptance of these considerations in the workplace. If the research findings conclude in avour of the effectiveness of prevalent ethical considerations then there must be some other socio-economic or socio-cultural causes that need to be unearthed to develop an adequate cause-effect relationship for the rising number of workplace discrimination cases in the developed countries like USA and UK.
