If simply, apartheid is keeping the unite group of individuals in the fear of division, in the state of torture and in the risk of injustice just because they have some different feature than the group that first decided that. Apartheid is also a tricky politics that when centuries pass requires retribution in a form of a mass migration. In a historical context, this is a policy of restricting the rights of the non-white population of South Africa, conducted in South Africa until 1994. The initiator was the leader of the Nationalist Party, which came to power in South Africa after the Second World War. It prohibited intermarriage, joint training white and black schools and universities. Ferrous and nonferrous deprived of the right to strike. People with colorful skin lived in a special ghetto, surrounded by a large city, provided for exclusively white ones.
Indignation of Africans resulted in riots, which were ruthlessly suppressed. In March 1960, police fired on a demonstration in the town of Sharpeville, where killed about 70 people. The opposition has also decided to fight. Nelson Mandela went underground and created paramilitary organization "Spear of the Nation". In 1964, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. The policy of apartheid and repression caused an unambiguous response of the world community. The condemnation of the regime in South Africa - one of the very few examples of joint actions of the democratic West and the Communist bloc states.
As to the studies, Eller states that “races’ are not ‘real’ or ‘objective’ entities but are rather social constructs” (Eller 2013:102). Eller outlines six types of group relations, two of which may be found in the apartheid “race system”. The first obvious one is continued subjugation, when one nation or race dictates the conditions of coexistence, it does not have any respect and predominates in decision-making. It uses powers, violates all the rules of law and freedom. That is a tool that is used by the government to keep its power and impact. Population transfer can also relate to phenomenon of apartheid when one group was forced to live in the provided conditions and sometimes was involuntary displaced from their homes and cities. Those given “solution to the racial problems”, to my mind are not solutions, but the forms of oppression. The story of African Cinderella, Sandra Lang, depicts the strict past that has its influence until today. It shows the survival story or story of life through obstacles. Despite the biography itself, it is fascinating, but the historical context is what shown vividly.
In conclusion, the apartheid regime was a unique system, developed in the South African context, as the only possible form of conservation is the presence of white and of European civilization. With the fall of apartheid and the transition of power to the black majority, country went in a completely different way, which is typical for most of the African continent.
