Dean of students

Dear Mr./Dr. Dean (Surname of Dean):
I, a student of (name of your course and year), am writing this appeal letter for regaining the financial aid for the subject of Science I failed in the previous semester. Even though I am fully aware of the reasons that led the authorities to reject my aid, my failure was inevitable given the predicaments I was enduring while pursuing my studies.
As an eighteen year old given to physical abuse in the hands of my own mother, I was forced to work more than fifty hours every week while I was still a student. However, my determination to continue my college education motivated me to attend the classes regularly even as I was compelled to go straightaway to the workplace that required me to drive an hour and a half from the school. Having graduated from high school with an outstanding GPA that won me a financial aid to continue my education, I am deeply pained at failing in Science that led to my overall GPA dropping straight down to 2.
Even though I have the willpower to work still hard this time and pass Science, I face severe financial constraints to move forward. I promise that if my financial aid is restored, I will surely honor your decision by passing the subject with flying colors.
Thank you very much for taking the time and patience to read my appeal letter. I hope you will favorably consider my plea and give me a second chance by restoring the aid.
Respectfully,
Enclosures
