Cognition
Apple Inc., through the Apple corporate strategy, teamwork, experienced and highly talented management, has managed strategic decisions that have enabled it to realize unmatched success as well as market sustainability. Of key importance are the cognitive strategies that make up the overall business model at Apple. The cognitive strategy serves to support Apple’s strategic forces by enabling it to develop internal strategies for managing complex issues within the organization. As such, the use of cognitive strategies enables the company to increase efficiency with respect to the way it addresses particular tasks. These includes but not limited to development and application of technology to create innovative products, identifying the mission and vision of the organization to match Apple’s long-term objectives, and continuously enhancing its competitive edge by making sure that all products are of best design, high quality and above all, customer centered (Almendares, 2010). Through cognition, Apple has been able to diversify its operations into the consumer electronics market that has seen the company produce of the world’s leading brands: iPhone, iPod, and iPad. Lastly, Apple Inc. has continued to succeed in new product development and diversification of its portfolio by investing in R&D initiatives.
Organization
In terms of organization, initially, the company had no clearly outlined organizational structure. The company mostly relied on the information from the field people in making decisions. However, things changed when the company faced financial problems which arose due lack of accountability and fiscal decision-making. Therefore, the top-down organizational strategy was put into place which changed the company to what it is today, (Almendares, 2010, pp. 1-5). The company is managed by a Board of Directors who are chaired by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Below the board of directors are other senior executive officers who are in charge of different fields within the company for instance, finance, industrial design and other sectors. Below the senior executive officers are other junior executive officers who have been stationed in different parts of the world working under different fields. The organization of apple company works towards eliminating strong competitors in the industry for example the IBM.It ensures that each sector in the company works towards achieving the companies goal that include inventions and innovation, marketing and good relationship between the company and the consumers.
Technology
Apple Inc. is one of the most successive companies currently in the application of modern technology. The company always does a lot of research before coming up with a new product resulting invention of new products as well as innovation of the existing products. This explains the reason behind the production of sophisticated products such as the iPhone, iPod, Mac as well as Apple TV, (Almendares, 2010, pp. 1-5). The company has been successive in creating far-reaching patent portfolio about the iPhone and iPod touch-screen interface. Moreover, the company has been able to technologically assist individuals with learning and cognitive disabilities. For example, the company incorporated a simplified user interface in Mac that enhances exploration and learning. Besides, Mac computer has Mouse Keys, Sticky Keys, Slow Keys, making it adaptable for different people with different capabilities and needs.
Apple Inc Company has concentrated in the designing, producing and marketing mobile phones, personal computers as well as handy digital music players. The company also supplies related services, software, networking solutions, peripherals as well as third-party digital substance and applications in the entire world, (Almendares, 2010, pp. 1-5). Notably, this is a global Company because it supplies its products in the entire world through its retail stores, online stores, resellers, third party wholesalers, direct sales force, and value-added resellers. Some of the major products of the company which have contributed greatly to its success include the iPhone, iPad and iPod.
Collaboration
Notably, Apple Inc. has collaborated with other companies in producing various products. One the most significant collaborations took place in 2005 during the Worldwide Developers Conference, during which Steve Jobs disclosed that Apple Inc. will be manufacturing Intel-based Mac machines starting from 2006. By August 2006, the whole Mac product line had been transitioned to Intel Chips, (Henry & Ghoshal, 2003. Pp. 234-39). Through this collaboration, Apple Inc. expanded in terms of finance as an increase in sales was realized attributed to the new product of this collaboration. Another significant collaboration was between Apple and BMW in iPhone support. The latest automobile of BMW supports the usage of iPhone. These automobiles have been designed in such as a way that it is possible for one to control all the feature of the iPhone from the dashboard. As a matter of fact collaborations have helped in the marketing of the apples products worldwide. Microsoft internet explorer is the default worldwide provider of web browser for the Mac operating systems, therefore the collaboration between apple Inc and Microsoft ensures constant capability between their virtual java machines. The collaboration makes it possible for apple to co-exist with other companies hence cutting its total cost and maximizing profitability.
Globalization
As mentioned above, Apple Inc. is a global company. Its brand is well known in almost all parts of the world. It is one of the few companies which have managed to penetrate into every part of the globe and as such, its profits mainly depend on the economic activities in the entire globe. It should be noted that although the headquarters of this company are based in the United States, the company has several branches in different parts of the world where its products are assembled before being distributed to other areas, (Almendares, 2010, pp. 1-5). For instance, the company has established assembling units in China and Taiwan. Besides, the company launched iTunes in Korea. This was an attempt to create or rather to extend the market for iPhone which has proved to be one of the most successive products for the company.
Values
The values of this company encompass the customs, qualities, principles and standards that are believed to be helpful to the employees as well as the company. They form the foundation of what is to be done and how it is to be done, (Almendares, 2010). Some of the values that rule the business conduct of this company are: Empathy for customers which guides the company in giving superior products that satisfies the needs of the customer, aggressiveness which leads to achievement of set goals, innovation/vision which has enhances the company to provide new and needed products, individual performance in that individuals are expected to obligated and perform above the set industry standards, and lastly, quality/excellence, in that the company expects its workforce to produce quality products and performance which enable the company to earn loyalty and respect from its customers. Values act as the bottom line of the entire progress of the apples company. Apples Inc values are very important to both the customers and employees. It ensures there is respect in the company. Apple customers always go for the company’s products because of the good service provided over other companies. The company has always believed the company is ads good and important as other, parties this includes customers, employees and other in the same sector. It is the employees of Apple Company with good values that have enabled the company to sell.
