My presentation and pros, cons evaluation
As we discussion, the position of management will face cons and pros. Based on your request, my group and me did a presentation about the cons and pros of management filed. The presentation was discussion about cons that Managers facing such as greater challenges at work, which includes making tough decisions, handling people, and the need to observe time management. In addition, it is about the pros, which is the field of management offers greater opportunities for graduates to generate higher compensation.
Problem
Being autocratic and argumentative can ruin the relationship between employees and their supervisors. Failing to listen to other parties in a conversation would hinder effective collaboration with others. Shouting at others would sap the creative energy. Self-assertion in the workplace can greatly hinder the success of your business because much time is spent in solving problems. As such, it is important to look for appropriate solution to these problems faced by workers.
Proposed solution
It is important to develop self-awareness among people to enable them recognize their constructive role during interactions. This requires good communication skills, such as listening, using appropriate language, and giving honest opinion. Basic organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills would be required along with the ability to work under limited supervision and meet targets.
Disadvantages
Managers face many challenges when performing their job functions. Some of the challenges include making complex decisions, handling people, and the need to observe management time. Making complex decisions require the manager to posses certain fundamental skills such as listening and critical thinking. Handling people from diverse backgrounds is very difficult and managers should have good knowledge on management of diverse workplace. Managerial role requires adequate time management as well as working extra time to ensure that they achieve organizational goals.
Advantages
The field of management offers a challenging working environment, but the profession generates higher compensation than most professions. Management trainees start with a salary of between $19,000 and $50,000 per year.
