I have never thought in my life having a cloned animal. In this case, walking in the city streets with a cloned pet, yet the natural pet is at home. Technology is taking the world at a tremendous pace, whereby people are left wondering what exactly is going on. Cloning is one form of genetic engineering, whereby an organism of an exact copy of the other is created. The issue of animal cloning has led to unending debates. For example, when dolly the sheep was created in the year 1997, and died in 2003, led to tremendous questions on the ethical and health issues of a cloned animal. Certainly, I am against animal cloning for scientific, religious, and practical reasons.
Certainly, it is evident that the scientist has become failures in the process of animal cloning. As a matter of fact, most of the cloning has ended up as a failure. For example, the Bible tells us that God created the entire world in six days, yet human beings have taken millions of years to attempt to clone an animal, of which it later failed. In most cases, clones live for a remarkably short time as compared to animals that are sexually produced. This is because the genes that are used for cloning would have already undergone various mutations. It does not make sense to use billions of dollars attempting to clone an animal that will die after a short time.
Animals are always evolving and becoming more complex. Hence, animal cloning is an avenue that promotes inbreeding, leading to a tremendous decrease of variation, which increases genetic defects. On a practical point of view, natural reproduction is the easiest and cheapest way. On the other hand, cloning requires a lot of time, money and resources. Religiously, life comes from God, and attempts by human beings to create animals are acting like God. Therefore, the process of the reproduction should take its natural course.
Cloned animals lead to food security in the world. As a matter of fact, we do not need corn and soybean guzzling animals. The cloned animals will bring a lot of competition to humans in terms of food consumption. Perhaps, we need natural animal, which can struggle to survive in the mountains and dry lands. In addition, animal cloning is morally and ethically wrong. Cloning of animals is an extraordinarily expensive procedure that requires a lot of resources, technology and time. In the world today, many people are dying of hunger and other global problems. The resources that are channeled into animal cloning process should be used to eliminate global issues that affect human beings. Moreover, animal cloning is unethical because altering animal life through genetic techniques is life playing with animal life. Human beings should not treat animals with cruelty; in that, killing of animals and cloning them is very unsympathetic
On the other hand, those who support animal cloning have come up with various reasons. They assert that animal cloning help in preserving engendered species of animals in society. In the real sense, animal cloning preserves valuable genes from animals. In addition, proponents of animal cloning claim that the process leads to food security. Scientifically it is proven that genetically created products has harmful effects in the body of human beings. Therefore, solving a problem by creating another problem is a waste of resources and time.
In conclusion, the reasons against animal cloning are strong since it affects human beings adversely. In fact, animal cloning undermines the work of God, it is practically tedious and wastes a lot of resources. Based on the arguments above, the reasons against animal cloning will outweigh any positive outcome that mane arise from the animal cloning process. Therefore, animal cloning should be stopped in the world.
