The Brooklyn Museum in New York is not only a building meant to be a tourist attraction. It is one of the best art institutions in the United States, presenting the art forms and art pieces from ancient Egypt to contemporary art of the United States. In total, the museum displays more than a million pieces of art in the museum. The building which has five floors has different halls and spaces to display a different kind of works. The Entry to the museum cost $10 as there was a special discount for students with a valid ID. Entering the museum was exciting and thrilling, it was as if entering a time capsule going through advancements and changes seen in the artworks. Starting from the fifth floor was a good idea. The fifth-floor halls exhibited the American art forms in the “Arts of the Americas Galleries”, the most fascinating was the “small wonders from the American Collection “displaying stamps, jewelry, and ornaments from the native American cultures. One feels lost going through these small pieces. The fourth floor consisted of decorative art and period rooms ranging from the 17th century to 20th century, in addition to a 19th century, modern art pieces. The third floor had the famous Egyptian mummies and Assyrian Reliefs in the Kevorkian Gallery bringing to light an important historical chapter. The second floor was closed for renovation which brought us straight to the first floor, which had African art pieces exploring different techniques, designs and themes. Also on the same floor was “Great Hall” which displayed cross-cultural installations. (Brooklyn Museum 2016). The most melodramatic and powerful experience was attending Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra held in the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium on a 3r floor. The performance was mesmerizing and worth watching. All in all, The Brooklyn Museum is a place where every art lover must visit. (Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra 2016).
