Introduction
The Global health pandemics have been taking different shapes from the time immemorial. Various pandemics such as flu, SARS, cholera, bird flu, among others continue to cause deaths among world populations. Various interventions including preparedness for these pandemics have been taken by the policy makers at both local and international levels. However, the big question is whether the international community is prepared adequately to address these global health pandemics.
The taking sides’ issue number 10 addresses the above mentioned question where the authors in two sides have clashing views about the question. The World Health Organization in its document has responded to this question by saying that the international community is indeed well prepared since it lays a comprehensive program of action that needs to be taken by everyone. This organization proposes the necessary activities that individual countries and international community can undertake to prepare the globe for next influenza pandemic (Harf 201). For instance, the organization describes issues that the policy makers have to follow in situations that are characterized by uncertainty and urgency. The organization further recommends that countries need to undertake urgent actions that are fundamental in preparing for the pandemics.
In a nut shell, I totally agree with World Health Organization that the international community is adequately prepared to deal with the Global Health Pandemics. This is because the World Health Organization as an international organization have done enough to mobilize the international community the importance of laying comprehensive programs that policy makers use in addressing the global health pandemics.
