Article Analysis
The first article talks about the problems women encounter in the modern world. The author concentrates on two issues: inequality at the work place and sexual harassment. It not a long time since women became active participants in the business. Not many of them can boast of being chiefs and directors of large enterprises. Nevertheless, a big progress was made since 1900s when the labor movement appeared. The author provides an example of her mother who is not always heard at the meetings of the company she works. Sexual harassment and physical violence are other issues which women are afraid to encounter at their workplace. The statistics proves that it is actually true and young women can probably be the objects of harassment. The author hopes that the changes are about to come and the equality can be reached. I agree that the business sphere needs changes. The article is supported with strong arguments including personal experience and statistic data.
The second article focuses mainly on sexual harassment issue. The author describes two types of harassment at the workplace: Quid pro quo, when women are threatened to have sex with their superiors and that kind of harassment when employee or employer create an offensive environment. More than half of all working women experienced sexual harassment. Author provides statistical data as well as an example from media. Besides, the author states that women from his or her family also believe that it is the most urgent issue for women at the workplace. A reform is needed in this area. I agree that sexual harassment is very important problem that needs to be observed and solved.
