INTRODUCTION
The following are examples of recent developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. First, Microsoft gave had a breakthrough in reducing the gap created because of language barriers between different people of the world. They have taken recognition of speech to a level never reached before. They have been able to reduce the percentage of errors in speech by 30 percent, meaning a single word in every eight words. In addition, the system can turn in your own voice English to Chinese. The second advancement is the creation of a robotic arm that is wearable. The arms act as an additional pair of front limbs that will make work easier. The semi-autonomous arms outspread in front of one’s body from the hips and are it ties to a backpack-like bind that clutches the control electrical system. Third, scientists of Sussex and Sheffield Universities are getting on a project that will generate the first precise computer prototypes that uses the brain of a honeybee in order to improve our understanding on animals thinking and Artificial Intelligence (AI).The robot will fly and will be able to act like a bee. Fourth, in five years’ time there will be self-driven cars. Google are working on a vehicle that will drive itself and does not need a human to drive it. Fifth, a scientist developed an intelligent textbook that will help students to understand better what they are learning. The artificial intelligence is software that will create a new page that answers student’s questions.
The Microsoft artificial intelligence that recognizes speech and translates one language into another in your own voice for example English to Chinese will help bridge communication gaps. This is because it will be easy for different people of very different languages to communicate and understand each other. The software takes the words in the language you are talking in and finds corresponding words in the other language you want it to translate. It is real-time translation thing that will even now enable people go to places without the fear of not being able to understand their language.
The robotic arms developed have designs that depict human hands abilities. The scientist’s design of the limbs is to study and do in advance, what the person who wears them wants to do. The arms can be useful and at the same time dangerous. As a result, safety precautions are in place whereby the arms are made of elastic actuators that in case they go out of control the damage will be less. Imagine the arms to be like the ones of Dr.Octopus in the sci-fi movie Spiderman.
The flying robot that will use a brain similar to the honeybee is a brilliant artificial intelligence development. Its brain will work by the sense of smell and vision of the honeybee. This will let us understand how animals think since it will for example be able to find sources of specific gases and smells in the exact way a bee can recognize a particular flower. It might even let us understand how animals communicate which will facilitate communication between animals and human beings.
Self-driving cars will be a great advancement in the transport industry. It will improve safety standards of driving since the cars will strictly adhere to traffic and road rules as compared human beings who do not. In addition, office parking spaces will not be there, since the cars will drop its owner and go park somewhere different. This will create space around office areas.
Intelligent textbook developed will improve the education sector by far. It will save time when it comes to research, since after typing the specific topic of study you get a page full with the specific information. It also will enable people understand what they are learning since after you type a question the software creates a new page that answers your question.
