Question 1:
An art is just but a human activity that is either visual, performing or an auditory artifact. Over the years, a succinct definition has not been effectively realized, most of which are vague and lack clear meaning. However, it’s worth noting that an art is a diversified field that has different elements. To be precise, an art is a mere imagination that is primarily means to express an artist’s technical skills or creative imagination. An art is a subject of creatively whose major aim to derive appreciation. Well, as it is known, appreciation is a matter of emotional feeling, therefore, art is basically meant to elucidate emotions. Take for example paintings; they have their own ways of elucidating feelings (Larry, 2013).
People tend to believe that there is no difference between arts and creativity, however, the creativity is too gleaming that it is often ignored. An art is an independent subject that encompasses on human activities ranging from visual to auditory arts. But it’s worth noting that arts needs creativity. Creativity in the contexts of arts is used add some fine touch to the works of an artist can foster his work. A good example of creativity can be an artist painting his work to give it more beauty and make it more attractive to the eye (Larry, 2013).
Question 2:
The two brothers were applauded for their unique works that were based on gothic-style manuscripts. Due to their unique works that greatly related to the natural environment, they significantly influenced the Dutch arts as they depicted the real environment. As a matter of fact, their unique arts were derived from their sensitive paintings of the natural environment and landscape, these they again complemented with naturalism and decorative effects thus making almost all their works look real (Larry, 2013). Besides, they had a much sophisticated construction of their pictorial spaces, quite expressive and emotional narratives and a perfect use of light. Their pictures were fitted properly into the space, with real movements and perfectly fitting clothes. The shadows were quite sensible as they brought about a feeling of reality and uniqueness.
Cimabue’s work on the virgin and child enthroned 1280 depicts the natural world in several ways. The work is depicting a church in San Francesco in Pisa; furthermore, the work was linked to his stay at Pisa between 1301 and 1302. Moreover, the work also relates to Santa Trinita church in the Florence. Just the same way, Giotto’s painting on the virgin and child enthroned of 1310, has several aspects in relation to the natural environment; the picture has a golden background, something that is common in real life, the value of human figure and the hierarchy of figures. In Giotto’s picture the lamentation, there are birds and trees at the background, all these are found in the natural environment. Furthermore, trees can be seen on the painting of the raising of Lazarus and the Resurrection, all these closely relate to the natural environment. Finally, a building can be seen on his work Marriage at Cana.
