More and more people have questioned themselves an interesting question, where they would like to live or spend their life: in a major and cosmopolitan city or a small, coastal town. In this essay, I am going to write about the amazing city called Barcelona, which I have recently visited . Barcelona, the city of sun, can provide you with such amazing possibility as living and conducting a daily and untroubled life in a big, industrial and urban area. In my opinion, the life in Barcelona is a great chance for many individuals to open up new horizons in abstract and avant-garde art and to find out more about the most exciting game, which makes people go mad – football .
First and foremost, that city brings up talented and bright personalities. It is rich in medieval architecture, amazing sculptures and the most famous city squares, which were made by great artists and are known worldwide. For one thing is to see these masterpieces on TV and another is to feast one’s eyes and to feel the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. What is more, Barcelona became famous for Gaudi, who is one of the greatest architects in the nineteenth century. Some of his well-known projects are La Casa Mila, La Pedrera, The Park Guell and The Basilica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia, the last one is still considered as an enigma for many architects and inspire local people and tourists. That is why, all the architects from the most distant parts of the world are annually welcomed to Barcelona in order to show their talents and try themselves in reconstruction. Furthermore, Barcelona can boast of her Football Club Barcelona, which is the best in the world now, thanks to Lionel Messi. The rich sport heritage of Barcelona attracts sports fans from all over the world and provides them with unforgettable impressions.
Secondly, this sunny city is washed by the Mediterranean Sea, and has Mediterranean subtropical climate, which attracts lots of tourists from different parts of the world. It gives a great opportunity for the inhabitants to do some exercises near the sea, morning jogging along the coastline or simply to relax and breathe the maritime air during the holidays at the seaside, without spending the time and money on expensive and distant resorts. One disadvantage is that the sea is quite polluted by irresponsible tourists and this regulation causes harm to natural environment. In addition, it can turn out to be complicated for some people to live in Barcelona because the air is polluted by exhaust fumes. Any measure to reduce this problem can be regarded as a large step.
Thirdly, the main benefit, of course, is that there are lots of interesting places for tourists, such as theatres and galleries, which they can visit during the daytime and lots of bars, cafes and night clubs where everyone can relax in the evening. On the one hand, it is a good way to make new friends, find out some new interesting information about Spanish culture, music, dances , cuisine and simply about the city from habitants. Spain is well known for its flamenco dancing and festivals. On the other hand, Barcelona has its own rules, so it may cause some difficulties for tourists and inhabitants to get to their apartments. For instance, most of the cafes are open till 4 a. m. but the local transport finishes its work at 12 a. m. , that is why people usually encounter problem of commuting to their houses. Furthermore, it is worth noting that, it is also dangerous to get home on foot in Barceleona’s streets at night because there is a big percentage of crime nowadays.
All things considered, it seems that Barcelona is a paradise for those who are fond of medieval architecture and sunny weather. In my opinion, it is worth moving to that city not only for those who are romantic and artistic by nature but also for those who cannot imagine their life without contemporary culture, great Spanish music, general atmosphere and breathtaking nature. Everyone should at least try to change their way of life. Sometimes tiny steps, such as moving to a new place can bring amazing range of opportunities .
