Even though we are the creation of a nature, the humanity has found the way to control it. By trying to improve our life by creating of new facilities, breeding of new animals we are changing our mother nature. We are talking not only about organic nature, but even about making the rain or snow fall.
The technique of cloud seeding allow people to create the snow or rain whenever they want only with the help of aircraft that spray the sky with particles of silver iodide. Clouds are one of the most unexplored aspect of our environment so we can not surely say that the cloud seeding works.
Such a technique was used even during the Vietname war, where the Americans used their cloud seeding aircrafts for influencing the weather and creating a muddy conditions, so they could interfere with the supplying for the resistance army. Another use for seeding of cloud is concerned with the Hurricanes (Climate and Man).
The Project Stormfury is focused on seeding the clouds in the heart of the hurricane, so it can reduce the power of the hurricane. We believe that the use of such techniques is quite positive in this case, as it would save a lot of people`s lives and protect their property from being damaged. Unfortunately, twisters are such a natural force that can hardly be predicted. The use of cloud seeding may also result in hurricane just turning the side, so it is too risky (Climate and Man).
Some scientists believe that the human activity contributes to increasing of rain amount, but apparently the humanity can act vice versa. We know that the overall environment situation depends on the anthropological factors. This may be proofed by comparison of two places that have similar climate, but are quite different.
The Arizona and Sahel have identical climate conditions, but Arizona possesses more technologies so they have the possibility to extract the water from underground (Climate and Man), so they just take advantage of an extreme heat as many people come there running away from the cold winter of nearby states.
Looking at the Aral Sea we may notice quite an opposite example of how human influence affect the nature. Soviet scientists had a good intention of using the Aral Sea for growing the cotton in the dry regions of Asia and Uzbekistan, but unfortunately the program was conducted wrong and resulted in the ecological nightmare.
The miscarriage of the program turn Aral Sea into almost a dessert. 2/3 of the water was dried out. Once there was a beautiful port city called Aralsk with a plenty of fishermen, but nowadays there are no workplaces, all people are poor and have to look for a better place to live. Such disaster concerns not only the people who used to live on the banks of the city.
The salt from the Aral Sea is transported for five hundred kilometers with the sand storms. And we know that salt is a death. Because of the drying of Aral Sea there is no fish left.
In conclusion, we must say that sometimes the influence of human may produce quite a positive effect and result in saving some lives, but on the other side sometimes we can not achieve what we want and create even more problems that lead to destroying the nature and changing the environment in a bad way.
