Almost everything in our world has such important feature as development. We can say it about person’s skills and abilities in doing something too. According to this, I strongly believe that my personal, writing, and language skills have improved dramatically during our course.
First of all, completing of such tasks as those summaries we wrote prepared me for more serious works. Here I trained my spelling, punctuation, learned how to find the main idea in text and write this down within a few sentences. Next significant thing I did was writing an argumentative essay. It goes without saying that the fact I get acquainted with the essays structure and formatting styles is very useful for me. But what more important was that I learned how to build solid arguments, protect my point of view. If you are not able to hold your ground and give up when there is a slightest pressure on your opinion, you will never reach the results neither in studying, nor in life. After the essay about Burj Khalifa I found out what adjectives, word-combinations were more appropriate for sights describing. During the writing of the 3rd essay suddenly it came to me that analyzing such large pieces of work as book and film was difficult for me. I realized that for one to write such essay took certain attention and quick-thinking, without speaking of patience.
Though I gain a lot of experience from this course, I have a plenty of things to work on, including what I’ve described in previous sentence, punctuation, and, what’s more important, concentration. Sometimes I can abandon my work because of having no thoughts about the subject. Instead of this I should have sit a bit longer and think more thoroughly.
