Utopian map
Resources in society present an opportunity for society to grow. However, unused spaces in society result to existence of gaps in growth. Members of society experience the gaps by lacking essential aspects desirable in society. A lake beach with no activity presents an opportunity for the society to develop greatly. This can be in social-economic terms. Distinct processes are necessary in converting the lake beach into a useful resource in society. This is possible by setting up technological and other developmental initiatives in the lake beach.
Analysis
The lake around Panoma has no activity that takes place in it. This clearly indicates that there is an opportunity to make this place useful in the appropriate way. As such, this presents a space usable but not being put into any use. The social economic political and otherwise gaps created in this case indicate inefficiency in society. The society does not fully use the resources it has in fostering social economic and otherwise development (Kunstler, 1). Members of the society have a responsibility to implement initiatives that enable proper use of all the available resources in society in order to ensure success in different aspects. Leaving the lake unused implies underutilization of resources in society and community.
For this reason, the societal components should take the initiative appropriate to use all the resources available in the right manner. This will result to use of the resources for the benefit of the societal fraternity. Any resource in society is useful in distinct ways (Kunstler, 1). Considering the lake, it can be used to breed fish for instance which members of society can use for food. Still, the area around the lake can be converted to an agricultural land where members of society can grow crops and generate income out of this. The lake beach is ugly and no activity takes place here.
This beach is convertible into a recreation center where the authorities around can generate income by taxing those who visit the area. The fact that no activity takes place inside implies that the society fails in its obligation of making full use of the resources that it has (Speck, 2). This presents a space that the society could occupy in distinct ways to create value out of it. However, various factors contribute to the failure of the society to undertake this. For instance, ignorance, among other aspects can result to this failure.
Essentially, the space available as presented by the lack of activity inside the lake beach is appropriate for the society in many ways. In this current society, this space presents an economic as well as a social opportunity. Economically, the space is convertible into a tourist zone where people can visit and pay tax to the authorities (Speck, 2). Still, investors have an opportunity to set up t business, which are likely to flourish due to availability of clients who visit as tourists. Tourists prefer beaches as places of leisure and recreation. This also enhances creation of social unity, which is necessary in society.
