Close to every organization or business uses information system in one way or the other. No one organization has been left behind in the use of information system because of its lasting benefits to the organization. Information systems have transformed businesses right from their physical appearance to the way business is conducted. It is very hard to get an organization that does not use information system in the present times (Stair, & Reynolds, 2010). For any organization to function and be able to compete effectively in the present world, it cannot be separated from any form of information system, many forms of technologies are used in very many organization including; automated transactions, management among other forms. All these depict how important information technology is to the success of any organization in the present world (Abramowicz, & Mayr, 2007). It is upon this that the paper is going to elucidate some of the benefits that accrue the use of information systems in business in the present days.
The use of information systems makes the work for employees easier and removes the normal burdens from the daily routines. There are very many tasks that have been offloaded from the employees due to the use of information systems. A good example is that of the bank tellers who used to manually count money and in the same time, trying to ensure that there is no fake money amongst the many that he or she counted (Abramowicz, & Mayr, 2007). It was burdensome and that at the end of the day, you would find employees totally tired because of the exhumation they had during the day’s operation. Information systems have eased the work from the manual counting to automation machines that can tell the fake without much struggle. The information systems has therefore, in this case helped to reduce the workload easing the work of employees among other notable situations.
It has also lead to easy management of employees in the organization. Information systems that enable managers to man the whole organization from a specific point of the firm or even from a distance have worked well for organizations today. Employee’s records in organizations are kept in a very systematic way unlike that past when some information could go missing or misplaced for some reason (Chatterjee, 2010). The progress of the organizations are well kept to ensure development within the organization. The management information systems have helped the management to be able to settle several issues relating employee conduct and productivity progress for individual employees that have also helped the management to be able to plan well for training and development of the employees among other very important decisions of the organization.
The computer information systems have also done great to organizations in the present times. Accuracy is achieved by the use of such systems, inaccuracies are minimized due to the efficiency of the computer information systems. Processing of employees information regarding the payment is enhanced by the use of computers in the computation of all the information coming up with the best results. Instead of filling the cabinets, computers provide a lasting solution due to the ability to sort and store information accurately(Stair, & Reynolds, 2010). These among other benefits are recorded with the inception of information system and has greatly contributed to the success of very many organization and reduced wastes in them.
