This is a commentary that consists of 22 volumes with over 5,700 pages all for the New Testament books. The series combines several scholarships and applications. The author of these series John Scott says that the whole series revolves around threefold ideal which are; accurate exposition of bible texts, relating readings with contemporary life and making the series readable. Some of the common titles of this series; The Message of Mathew, The Message of the Sermon of the Mount, The message of Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1st and 2nd Corinthians and all the other books of the new testament to Revelation.
As he explains all that happened was in purpose and perfect plan of God. To begin with it had been prophesied that Jesus was going to be born on earth by the power of the Holy Spirit. The miraculous signs and wonders that accompanied the ministry of Christ were all demonstration of the power of God. Jesus moves town to town, one synagogue to another preaching the good news of the kingdom trying to open the eyes of men that he is indeed the savior and the light of the world but it is evident that it is only a few who understands this message.
Mathew 5:1-12 Commentary
The documentary explores the beatitudes which are in this bible text. Though many Christians may not be poor in the spirit as the beatitudes highlight, they are happy for they believe that they have the traits that allow them to inherit the kingdom of God. Jesus takes a ample time to explain the attributes that will allow to enter this kingdom that it is only the ordinary without sin he himself being an example. They are people who are humble, hunger for righteousness while at the same time mourn over their sin. Christians as Jesus teaches are those who are caring and kind towards other people without expecting anything in return. Though they will face prosecution due to their unique lives, they should always seek peace.
One of the lessons I got from this lesson is that Jesus lives in the hearts of men and as a result he expects them to look like him. Throughout his sermons Jesus was trying to explain to the Jews the new way of life that God wants them to live like and that is being exactly like Christ. Secondly Christ is the perfect example of humility, kindness, peacemaker and the prosecution he went through proved that this was true. All the beatitudes explains the life of Christ and as a Christian beatitudes does not make sense unless one looks up to Christ. There is no other man on earth who has ever such perfect traits of how life should be except Christ.
