Dear Steve Johnson,
The Bank Management wishes to inform you that there is a change to policy N° 32 of the Company’s Handbook. We know it is a cute idea to bring your pet at the workplace but we have come to realize that there are many benefits attached to the reasons we adopted a change of policy.
We are bound to deliver quality service to our clients and make them feel free; remember that not all clients who walk in the office like pets, even some of your colleagues or collaborators. Some people are allergic to pets especially when the dog starts whining or barking. This does not only affect the individual concern, it also creates noise in the environment.
We will like you to think about your commitment and concentration at work. Sometimes, dogs like to be given enough attention; for example speaking to it, touching it etcIt might also want to play with any important property of the company; for instance an important document or even bite someone it does not like to see around. What if it desires all these when you have to meet a deadline for some task on your desk? This will not only affect your productivity and performance as an individual employee, it will also affect the strategic performance of the company and the quality of service we offer.
Any employee who violates this policy, sanctions will be taken. A first verbal warning, a second written warning and lastly, he will have to leave the company because it will be concluded that he is unable to be guided by our company’s policy.
Please Steve Johnson, we will like you to consider the wants and needs of this lovely dog as well. Dogs essentially by a law once adopted, are confined to a yard or a domicile where they will have more space to play and feel free with their lovely ones. Your little dog loves you and vice versa. We all love lovely Black; that is why we will like you to see this policy change (Pets should be allowed at home) as a great idea.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Best Regards,
The Bank Management.
