One of the most important things for me is self-improvement – as someone who has not come from considerable means, I understand the importance of hard work and patience. From the time I started working for others, especially in my ideal career (corporate negotiation), I wished to be the best I could be; this means continually improving, learning, and doing. This philosophy continues to this day, and that is why I wish to further my education with a Master’s degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding.
In essence, pursuing my Master’s degree means three things for me – education, prosperity, and quality. To the very core of my being, I would like to bring these three attributes to my own personal life and the workplace. Also, I place a great amount of value on my own intellectual growth, and therefore would like to enhance it in any way possible. I want nothing more than to take my education as far as it can go; a Master’s degree is but the latest step in that process.
Given my already substantial experience in the field of contract negotiation and manufacturing, I already possess the basic skills necessary to focus my education. I have spent approximately four years working in various companies, ensuring that both my employer and the vendor I am negotiating with get what they want. The skills inherent in negotiation are paramount to ensuring both the company’s prosperity and my own; with the help of a Master’s level education in this discipline, I can have an even larger pool of knowledge and expertise from which to work.
The quality of my work is very important to me; in terms of both personal pride and professional ability. It is my deepest desire to provide the best work I can to whomever I work for, which means receiving the highest level of education I can attain. I take great care of my clients, and wish to improve my ability to do so. No problem should be too insurmountable for me; the greatest chance I have of providing solutions to contract and negotiation problems is to learn as much as I can about the discipline of negotiation.
My ultimate purpose is to become the best corporate negotiator I can be – this is accomplished through the highest level of education I can attain, including a Master of Arts in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding. This will grant me the skills I need to remain prosperous in this field, and offer the best quality work to my employers and associates alike. I sincerely hope I am granted the chance to make myself the best I can be.
