How much happy do you have?
The presentation by Tami Cromar was an interesting and eye-opening one. She talked with passion and believed with everything that she said. She believed that without goals and objectives, it would be hard and difficult to achieve dreams that one has set. Tami spoke this when she came to speak in out college about how to manage entrepreneurship. It was an interesting presentation about how to set and achieve goals. She started her career as an Architectural Designer and she did this as long as she still had the passion of it. She lost passion along the way and opted to pursue something that would make her happy about. This is something she values in everything she undertakes. She believes that people should do things with which they are passionate about and happy in all their engagements. She has gone to where she has been able to go because of the passion and the liking of the job and the business that she started. This is an important ingredient that she has managed to achieve.
Tami Cromar is the owner of RubySnap Company and has managed to take to higher levers because of the passion she has had in this company. In the initial stages, she wanted to make doughnuts but the name that she gave to her company did not go well with a major competitor. This resulted in some hardships where she was threatened by the competitor of closing down her business if she did not change the name. Being passionate in her dreams and goals, she decided to change the name because she did not want to be dragged to court cases that would lead to nothing and would yield to a waste of time.
Goal setting is an important part in entrepreneurships. We are driven by the goals we set. These goals will lead us to the far we have set them. Without setting goals, our lives will be empty. Goals make our lives to be with some meaning. Tami has managed to take the RubySnap to the place where they are because of the passion and enthusiasm that she had portrayed.

Strive to get customers – Do not give up
This was another inspiring presentation that was done by Rick White. He was the Company CEO of Fusion-io which is a computer company that deals with computer memory sales and enhancements. The funny thing about this is that the company CEO did not study computer and information technology. He did Architecture and Psychology while in college. This is another case which shows that there is power in being passionate about a dream. One outstanding point that Rick White dealt with in length is that of not giving up. He persisted that there is a need to continue pushing towards achieving one’ dream and goal even if there were difficulties along the way. He gave good illustrations about the many times and instances big entrepreneurs fell and were discouraged but kept on persisting towards their dreams. They chose to follow their dreams instead of choosing to listen to the discouragements that came from people.
Another thing that Rick stressed was the confusion that we meet when we go for our dreams. In early stages of entrepreneurship, there are either ideas or customers. Rick’s point was that as much as we strive to have ideas, we should also strive to have customers who will use our products. This is an important aspect and issue that Rick brought up. It is important to understand that the attraction we get for money will be because we have customers. Rick stressed that we should have customers for our business if we were to attract investors who would give us the money to pursue the dreams that we had. At this stage, many people focus on the idea without looking at the customers who will make use of this service or product. Ideas will only get you the advice but customers will get the money that is required to start and run the business.
Rick gave a lot of illustrations about the experiences that we go through in life. The most striking was that of the kids who get videos and not understanding the consequences and the responsibilities that decisions come with, it is important to understand the repercussions of the decisions that we make in life. It is important to understand. We should make decisions that are based on sound judgment. Any decision that we make in business will affect the way that business will be run. It is important that we make sound decisions in order to enhance and take the company forward.

Be careful with the partners you choose
The third speaker was Alan Martin who is the owner and entrepreneur behind campusbookrentals.com. This is a new company that dealt with buying, renting and selling books. With the cycle of buying books every beginning of the semester, Allan saw the opportunity and jumped into it. One lesson that Allan talked about was the use of disruptive innovation which can be used to get new opportunities.
There is also the lesson of diversification while handling entrepreneurship. This will help to have some savings if everything else goes down. There are some individuals and companies who can have an impact on entrepreneurs, and they should be chosen with care. It is important to be careful while choosing suppliers and distributors. In this business, it is not wise to put all options in one company. This is because of the fact that there are companies which might not be good for start-up businesses. It is important to understand the suppliers and practice diversification in the handling and choosing the supply chain process.
When choosing the partners whom to do business with, there is a need to have caution and care while choosing the business partners. It is not good to praise and give excess credit to businesses. There are dangerous things that can happen if this is the case. The business may face unwire competition while pursuing their dreams. It is important to understand this and ensure that the strife to have the partners and new business ties is done with care and caution. With changing economic times and the soaring prices that text books come with, there are changes that will come with eth changing economic cycles; there is an alternative solution that is provided by Allan. He does this with a lot of innovation. I am grateful I heard Allan speak and am grateful for the ideas that came up. I understood the ideas that he brought up in the presentation.
