Personal reaction to the movie Brave: the story is true like a Fairy Tale as it is telling about the Girl named as Maranda who is born in a kingdom as a princess and has to abide by all the rules and policies that have required for a true princess. 3 elements making brave unique: Her mother is a key person for Maranda by training her about how to become a princess and her way of conducting others through impressive personality. However, Maranda is always against and go beyond her mother guidance, as she wants freedom and want a life according to her own way and will.
5 themes to talk about: When Maranda grow up she has to face the biggest reality of her life that she haven’t prepared herself i.e. “Her Marriage”. But, she ran away while having a fight with her mother and went towards the jungle. There she found magical blue sparkling bulbs and she follow them with her horse. Following that magic she found a house of a witch and ask her to give a spell that could change her mom and change her fate. With that cake spell and after eating it, her mom appear as a bear. Therefore, to make her mom as a human again she went to the witch house and discover the three magical words that she has to follow in order to make her spell end, otherwise it can’t be possible. In this movie bear symbolizes the feeling of love existing in an animal in spite of changing from human to a bear; Mother love and care for her kids never ends.
Spirits are good and bad both, but kids get attracted to anything they saw glittering around them and want to follow them. It can act positive to the children mind by thinking that they can do by using the spirit to fulfill their dreams. At the same time it can be negative if the child start using for evil wishes.
Comparison of Mother with the witch can be said in 2 sentences: Mom lovable, never lose hope about her daughter and caring too. Witch has shown her witchy evil act by giving her false spell to change her mom into a bear, but good part of her side was she also told the answer to break the spell.
Happy Ending: Maranda spirit to save her mom. Secondly, believing in that she can do it. Thirdly, her mom behavior towards her daughter was change and make her brave to face what her daughter’s dream is and how to motivate her.
