Re: Use Internet in the Hiring Process
I am writing this memo in response to your request for my opinion regarding the above matter. Actually, the society has become so technological to the extent that it is necessary for all companies to go digital. The embracement of modern technologies can be instrumental in spearheading the organizations recruitment, communication and development activities.
In this regard, I would like to recommend that the company should incorporate the use of internet when carrying out recruitments. This is the best way through which it can appeal to the potential applicants. Besides, it can be instrumental in promoting networking so as to access a large pool of job seekers. The world has become a global village. The use of online services can enable the company to advertize the available vacancy, organize for interviews and get adequate and reliable information about the applicants.
The tracking of applicants’ connections through the social networks such as Facebook and Tweeter may not be the best thing to do during the hiring process. Instead, I would like to suggest that employers should resort to more creative ideas like use of referrals and collaboration with institutions of higher learning. If recruitment is done in conjunction with the colleges or universities, it will be possible to get the right caliber of the most qualified graduates in such institutions. Moreover, the employer can work through eternal Human Resource firms which have the ability to source for the right employees for all the organizations.
In conclusion, I would like to point out the Human Resource Department should be highly dynamic in their job searching process. Just like any other activity, the hiring process should be done as a team work by incorporating the contributions of all the concerned stakeholders.
